Functional Testing
I am pleased to offer functional testing as part of my personalised approach to nutrition and well-being. These advanced tests when appropriate, provide valuable insights into key areas such as gut health, hormone balance, and nutrient status, helping to identify underlying imbalances and optimise your health.
1
Gut Health
GI Effects® is a comprehensive assessment of complete gut health, assessing the root cause of most GI complaints including bloating, reflux, IBS, constipation, diarrhoea, SIBO. Utilising cutting-edge technologies and biomarkers, this test offers valuable insight into digestive function, intestinal inflammation, and the intestinal microbiome.
2
Vitamin D
This test will help you to keep track of vitamin D status, and specifically 25-hydroxy vitamin D, the main circulating form. This is considered the best indicator of vitamin D levels. Vitamin D deficiency symptoms can include fatigue, poor immunity, mood and sleep disturbances and general aches and pains. Vitamin D deficiency is common in the UK, and may lead to imbalances in various systems, including the immune, nervous, reproductive, cellular, and cardiovascular if left untreated.
3
Fatigue Profile
This test is useful for investigating fatigue, dyspnoea (shortness of breath), paraesthesia, joint/muscle pains, fainting or feeling lightheaded, weight gain/loss, alopecia, bruising easily, cognitive issues.
It may be used to understand the effects of heavy or frequent menstruation, or to identify thyroid dysfunction, including hypothyroidism (underactive thyroid) and hyperthyroidism (overactive thyroid).

A comprehensive Thyroid Profile with Antibodies measures the main Thyroid Hormones (Free T3, Free T4, and TSH) and Thyroid Antibodies (Thyroglobulin and Thyroid Peroxidase), all of which give a detailed understanding of how well the thyroid works, and whether there is any indication of autoimmunity.
